For working parents, preparing for the summer holidays can pose a bit of a puzzle, as they contemplate ways to keep their school-aged kids supervised and active. Likewise, for many students, the two-month break can signify a gap in social activities and healthy routines. It’s no wonder, then, that day camps have become a popular choice for families in search of summer solutions.
This year, one of those solutions can be found on Blue Lagoon Island, where Dolphin Encounters is bringing back its Seaventure Summer Camp for kids ages four to 14. The camp caters to different age ranges with separate programs for younger campers under eight and older kids over nine.
This year’s camp will be welcoming campers from June 23 to August 15, with the exception of the week beginning July 7, when there will be a week-long break in the program.
Each week’s itinerary includes:
- Dolphin Encounter
- 5×7 dolphin photo
- Marine activities
- Crafts and games
- Access to the aqua and bounce parks
- Swimming and snorkeling
- Two camp shirts
- Backpack and water bottle
- Lunch and snacks
Like years past, the Dolphin Encounters team is offering something for every participant with a variety of themed weeks featuring a range of educational topics including marine mammal education, marine animal adaptation and camouflage, ocean predators and sea animal survival.
For students whose summer days are already filled, or for those who want to sample the Seaventure Summer Camp before signing up for a full week, Dolphin Encounters offers a day registration program. Day camps can be booked for any day of the weekly camps and each day’s itinerary includes:
- Dolphin Encounter*
- 5×7 dolphin photo*
- Marine activities
- Crafts and games
- Access to the aqua and bounce parks
- Backpack
- Lunch and snacks
Participants can sign up for weeklong camps at a cost of $220 per camper per week, or for individual day camps at a cost of $50 per camper per day. Registrants who sign up for three weekly camps will get a $40 discount on the third week.
Camp is held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and fees include ferry transportation to Blue Lagoon Island from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal.
