Ordinarily, difficult news is not posted here, but as our Blue Lagoon family goes through these challenging times, it is essential that we acknowledge the tragic loss of a passenger on November 14th. In private, we have shared our deepest condolences with the family. Our hearts and thoughts are with them each day during this difficult time.
We know this situation impacted many and we truly regret that our passengers aboard the Island III vessel experienced this unfortunate situation.
In the more than 30 years that our company has been in operation, we have never experienced anything like this. As a result, we have retained an international maritime forensic investigation company to explore every aspect of what transpired on 11/14.
We are in full cooperation and working closely with The Bahamas Maritime Authority, The Bahamas Port Authority, and the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Understandably, Blue Lagoon Island tours are currently suspended.
We are beyond grateful to the many community leaders and members who helped in countless ways. Your genuine support and kindness to our passengers, our team and families will always be treasured.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
